DO YOU KNOW WHY YOUR SKIN AGED

The fact that it covers the entire body means that the skin is the most obvious place to observe signs of aging.

The skin performs several key functions that are increasingly impaired in ageing.

The skin ages intrinsically (chronologically from within) which results from passage of time i.e growing old.

This kind of aging does not make your skin rough or blemished but it could lead to dryness and less elastic with fine line wrinkles.

The skin also ages extrinsically due to external factors such as smoking, diet, exposure to chemicals, trauma and exposure to UV radiation (photoageing).

The greatest source of extrinsic aging is the accumulated unprotected exposure to UV radiation most of which is gotten from the sun.

It is characterized by coarse and deep wrinkling, rough texture, irregular pigmentation, spider veins and loss of elasticity.
